Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ½ cup onion, chopped
  • ¾ cup water
  • ½ cup green bell pepper, chopped
  • 3 tsp chili powder
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • ¼ tsp hot pepper sauce
  • 1–2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 (10 oz) can diced tomatoes with chiles, undrained
  • 1 (10¾ oz) can condensed tomato soup
  • 1 (6 oz) can tomato paste
  • 1 (15.5 oz) can pinto beans (or kidney beans), drained, rinsed

Instructions

  1. In a medium skillet, combine ground beef and onion. Cook over medium heat until beef is thoroughly cooked.
  2. In a large saucepan, combine the ground beef mixture and all remaining ingredients except kidney beans. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 1½–2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  3. Stir in kidney beans; simmer until thoroughly heated.
