In a medium skillet, combine ground beef and onion. Cook over medium heat until beef is thoroughly cooked.
In a large saucepan, combine the ground beef mixture and all remaining ingredients except kidney beans. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 1½–2 hours, stirring occasionally.
Stir in kidney beans; simmer until thoroughly heated.
