Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients

Rolls: Filling:
  • ¼ cup butter, melted
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
Icing:
  • ¾ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp margarine or butter, melted
  • ¼ tsp vanilla
  • 1–2 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. Generously grease 13×9” pan.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to a 20″ x 12” rectangle. Spread with ¼ cup melted butter. In a small bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon; mix well. Sprinkle over dough.
  3. Starting with the 20” side, roll up jelly-roll fashion. Pinch edges firmly to seal seams. Cut into 20-1” slices. Place cut-side down in the greased pan.
  4. Cover. Let rise in a warm place (80–85°F) until light and doubled in size, 35–45 minutes.
  5. Heat oven to 375°F. Uncover dough. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Immediately remove from pan; place on wire rack. In a small bowl, blend all icing ingredients, adding enough milk for the desired drizzling consistency. Drizzle over warm rolls.
  7. Serve warm.
Overnight method:
  1. After letting the dough rise once, refrigerate it overnight, covered with greased plastic wrap.
  2. In the morning, punch down the dough and let it rise again, then bake.

Notes

  • Place ½–1” apart in pan to allow for rising.
