Yield
8 servings
Apple Pie
Ingredients
2 crusts
¾ cup sugar
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
¾ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp salt
⅛ tsp nutmeg
*1 tbsp lemon juice
6 cups thinly sliced, peeled apples
Instructions
Heat oven to 425°F. Prepare pie crusts for a 9” pie pan.
In a large bowl, combine all filling ingredients except lemon juice and apples; mix well. Add lemon juice and apples; toss gently to mix.
Spoon into a crust-lined pan. Top with second crust; seal edges and flute. Cut slits or shapes in several places in the top crust.
Bake for 30–40 minutes or until the apples are tender and the crust is golden brown.
Notes
Reduced baking time because crusts keep burning; may not be enough time for apples though.
