Meat Loaf

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp beef-flavor bouillon
  • ¼ cup hot water
  • 1½ lb ground beef
  • ¾ cup cracker crumbs or unseasoned dry bread crumbs
  • ½ cup onion, chopped
  • 2 tsp dried basil leaves
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • ⅓ cup ketchup
  • ⅛ tsp hot pepper sauce
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large bowl, dissolve beef bouillon in hot water. Add all remaining ingredients; mix well.
  3. Spoon mixture into an ungreased 8×4-inch loaf pan or shape mixture into an 8″x4” loaf in an ungreased 12″x8” (2-qt) baking dish. Insert meat thermometer so bulb reaches the center of the meatloaf.
  4. Bake for 1¼ hours or until beef is thoroughly cooked in the center and the meat thermometer reaches 160°F.
  5. Let stand for 5 minutes before slicing.
